Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com recently crowned Mazda as the most affordable cost-of-ownership automotive brand and presented the automaker with an honorable "2014 5-Year Cost to Own Award." Mazda beat out all other manufacturers to earn the award and attributes their hard work and dedication to producing high-quality cars as the reason for the win.
"Mazda's new generation of vehicles continue to perform very well against the competition, not only with driving dynamics and fit and finish, but fuel economy and overall cost of ownership, and this award is additional proof of that," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO.
According to KBB.com, Mazda was a top choice for the award due to their low insurance costs, Kelley Bluebook Fair Purchase Price and fantastic fuel economy ratings. The website also took maintenance costs, depreciation and state fees for new cars into consideration when choosing recipients of the 2014 5-Year Cost to Own Awards.
"ÂÂNew-car shoppers naturally want to know how much a car will cost upfront; however, they also should consider what vehicles will save them money down the road," said Dan Ingle, vice president of vehicle valuations for Kelley Blue Book. "Kelley Blue Book's 5-Year Cost to Own information evaluates the other out-of-pocket expenses drivers will incur in the first five years and Mazda tops the list among all non-luxury brands."
