Over and over again, 2017 Mazda3 reviews have praised the car’s exceptional design quality, high-end features and useful versatility that make it an ideal choice for buyers who expect more out of a compact car.

For the current model year, every new Mazda3 gets refreshed styling on its front and rear fascias. Inside, the top-selling sedan and hatchback get a new steering wheel that is sporty and comfortable to grip. There’s also a new dashboard design, additional equipment, larger storage pockets and a brand-new electronic brake.

Available as a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback, shoppers will have the choice of four trims: Sport, Touring, Touring 2.5 and Grand Touring. Standards include a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, two USB ports and smartphone-enabled internet radio. Optional items include 16-inch alloys, heated exterior mirrors, automatic headlights and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

There are two different engines to choose from when you decide to buy a new Mazda3. Standard on the Touring 2.5 and Grand Touring is a 184-horsepower 2.5-liter four that makes 185 pound-feet of torque. The smaller engine, which is a 2.0-liter four, produces 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Each engine can be paired with either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual.
