Ice, snow and salt can severely damage your vehicle. That’s why it is so important to protect your investment by giving it a thorough clean, and with the arrival of spring, now is the perfect time to do just that. Follow these simple steps to make your new or used car, truck or SUV sparkle and shine.

Start by removing all the garbage and unnecessary stuff in your car’s cabin and trunk. Be as thorough as possible by checking underneath the seats and between crevices.

Pull out the salt-caked floor mats for an easier pass with the vacuum wand. Next, use a screwdriver to remove grime out of the creases between seats and other areas.

Before applying a protective anti-UV spray on the dashboard and door moldings, make sure you first wipe these surfaces clean with wet paper towels or a wash cloth.

Always use a good car window cleaner; the ammonia in household cleaners can cause fogging problems.

Like the interior, you’ll want to clean the outside of your car from the top down. While washing, make sure you rinse thoroughly. Use a soft sponge to avoid scratching your clear coat. Also, dry the vehicle with a microfiber towel or scratch-free wash mitt. When you’re done, bring your vehicle to a car wash to have the underbody flushed. This will help loosen salt and keep your car from rusting.
