On October 1, Mazda North America Operations (MNAO) announced the appointment of Yoshiyuki Wada as the company's new Vice President of R&D, Design, and Quality Assurance. In his new position, Wada will lead product strategy development for the U.S. market and strengthen collaboration among key manufacturing teams in the United States and Mexico. He will report directly to Executive Vice President Takuji Iwashita.

Wada brings more than 30 years of experience in product planning and program management. He joined MNAO in April 2025 as Senior Director of Product Strategy & Marketing Expansion, where he played a key role in promoting strategic alignment across North and South America. During this time, he worked closely with Iwashita on several key initiatives.

Before joining MNAO, Wada served as General Manager of the Product Development Division at Mazda Motor Corporation, where he oversaw the creation of several notable vehicles, including the Mazda CX-60 crossover SUV.

Wada succeeds Ryotaro Nishida, who will return to Mazda Motor Corporation following his tenure as Vice President.
