While Mazda already outfits its new vehicles with the advanced i-Activsense safety suite, including features like Advanced Smart City Brake Support, the automaker recently teamed up with AAA and HAAS Alert to offer enhanced roadside protection.

When a driver requests help through the Mazda app or a phone call, AAA dispatches assistance to the disabled vehicle. At the same time, HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud takes safety a step further by sending instant "Slow Down, Move Over" digital notifications to nearby drivers, alerting approaching traffic to the stranded vehicle in advance.

Why Is This Real-Time Digital Communication System So Beneficial

Breaking down on a busy highway poses severe risks, as research indicates that hundreds of crashes involving stopped vehicles happen every year. Fast-moving traffic and a lack of physical barriers create a dangerous situation for stranded motorists, which rain or dark conditions can easily worsen. In fact, simply stepping outside to check a flat tire can put drivers in harm's way.

With HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud integrated into the process, Mazda drivers receive an extra layer of protection during emergencies. Both stranded occupants and responding AAA technicians benefit from the added peace of mind while on the roadside.
