Specs at a Glance

The CX-30 is an all-new release from Mazda in 2020. The CX-30 is a small crossover that fills the gap between the CX-3 and the CX-5. The CX-30 has the same features as the CX-3, but it has even bolder looks and more room. The CX-30 is built on a higher platform, too. With a longer wheelbase than the CX-5, it has more headroom, legroom, and cargo capacity. From the outside, the CX-30 has a captivating presence with sporty accents and a sleek, sophisticated exterior. Inside, it has quality materials and high-end styling that puts it at the head of its class. A larger touchscreen display and Bose sound system are other highlights of the CX-3. Meanwhile the CX-5, not to be outdone by its newest sibling, gets some notable changes this year, too. A diesel engine is offered for the first time, and more safety features come standard. Technology gets refreshed for the 2020 model year, too.

Power & Performance

All-wheel drive is standard in the Mazda CX-30. The standard engine is a 2.5L with four cylinders. It has a power capacity of 186 HP. A special spark plug engine with a compression-ignition will likely be offered on the 2020 CX-30 as well. The base engine on the 2020 CX-5 is also a four-cylinder with a 2.5L capacity. This engine generates a decent amount of power, which is 187 HP at 6,000 RPM. Its maximum torque output is 186 LB-FT at 4,000 RPM. The higher trim levels are powered by a more advanced gasoline engine. This engine creates up to 250 HP at 5,000 RPM based on the type of gasoline you use. It has a torque output of 310 LB-FT at 2,000 RPM. The newly available diesel engine produces 168 HP and 290 LB-FT of torque with four cylinders and a 2.2L capacity.

Highly Impressive Appearance

With contoured edges, defined lines, and a sporty look, both the CX-3 and the CX-5 stand out from the crowd. The Mazda CX-3 features LED lights, chrome touches, and a streamlined shape that enhances energy flow. Its classy cabin brims with high-end materials. The CX-5 features LED lights, fog lights, and combination LED lights in the back. Dual exhaust outlets, heated side mirrors, a shark fin antenna, and a body-colored spoiler give the CX-5 a memorable exterior. Wheels for the CX-5 range from 17 inches to 19 inches. Its interior gets a touch of luxury with leather accents, carpeted floor mats, and other premium features.

Amazing Features

The CX-30 has 15 cubic feet of storage space and two spacious rows of seats. Horizontal surfaces and a seamless dashboard design give it a modern appearance. At 8.8 inches, the infotainment screen is comparatively larger than others in its class. The CX-5 has a full-color seven-inch touchscreen display. Bluetooth and HD radio are welcome amenities. Both vehicles are loaded up with ample safety features, too.

In 2020, it's a tough choice between the all-new CX-30 and the redesigned CX-5. Therefore, we encourage you to contact our dealership for more information about these two cars. You can schedule them for a test drive, too.
