What's New for the 2019 Mazda CX-3?

Subtle but welcome changes in 2019 await fans of the Mazda CX-3, which is Mazda's signature crossover SUV. At first glance, the Mazda CX-3 looks sportier and more streamlined than earlier models. Chrome accents on the side give the car a sharper look, while the rear headlights have been given a rounder, more aerodynamic shape. Minor interior design changes, including optional leather seats, have also arrived for 2019, giving the Mazda CX-3 a more sophisticated feel. The seats in this year's vehicle are also wider and have more cushioning for additional driver and passenger comfort. The parking brake has been consolidated with the center console, which provides extra space up front. The climate control buttons are easier to reach and more visible, thanks to an eye-catching new red exterior. In the backseat, passengers can take advantage of a fold-down armrest with integrated cup holders. Along with a more refined cabin, the Mazda CX-3 features a quieter ride than in years past with the addition of more soundproof materials. Some features that were previously optional on older models, including blind spot monitoring, a seven-inch infotainment screen, and a rearview camera, are now standard amenities for the 2019 edition.

What Are Some of the 2019 Mazda CX-3 Trims and Features?

A generous set of features can be found in the base model, and successive trims build on the initial package of amenities. Higher-quality soundproofing materials are now standard on the base model for 2019, which is similar to the premium model from 2018. The driver and passengers can ride in comfort with Mazda's seven-inch infotainment screen, which has navigation and app connectivity capacities. The base model has two USB ports, a keyless entry, and a push-button start. Standard safety equipment in the 2019 Mazda CX-3 includes a blind spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert. The vehicle also has 16-inch wheels. The mid-level Touring trim has all the amenities of the base model, plus heated mirrors and automatic LED headlights. The Touring also adds automatic climate control. The top-level trim is the Grand Touring. The Grand Touring has the same amenities of the other two models and more. Standard features on the Grand Touring include LED headlights and fog lights, a head-up display system, and a power-operated moonroof. The Grand Touring is produced with a six-speed automatic transmission system, which is paired with paddle shifters for sportier driving. Leather seats are standard in the Grand Touring, and customers have a choice of two seat colors. All models have optional four-wheel drive.

How Powerful is 2019 Mazda CX-3?

2019 Mazda CX-3 Front GrilleThe 2019 Mazda CX-3 is powered by a 2.0L, four-cylinder, direct-injection inline engine, which is the same engine that has powered previous Mazda CX-3s. Although the engine is the same one that's been used for years, it's been slightly redesigned in 2019 to have more torque and a better fuel economy. The latest 2.0L engine can now generate 148 HP at 148 LB-FT of torque. This is 2 HP and 2 LB-FT of torque more than the previous year's model. The engine is also smoother and delivers torque more consistently across its rev span. The engine can be paired to either an automatic or manual transmission depending on the driver's preference.

Mazda CX-3 Safety

2019 Mazda CX-3 InteriorLike many of its competitors, Mazda equips its crossover SUV with a host of safety features. Driver and passenger airbags are standard. The Mazda CX-3 is outfitted with Skyactiv® Technology, which is Mazda's own intelligent drive system that provides driver assistance for performance and handling. Other technologically-oriented safety features in the Mazda CX-3 include automatic high beam control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, adaptive front lights, blind spot monitoring, and a brake support system that uses sensors to detect pedestrians ahead of the vehicle. If pedestrians are in range, the vehicle adjusts the braking system to make stopping easier and faster. The vehicle also has a distance recognition system that recommends a safe driving distance based on the distance to the car ahead. Contact Reliable Mazda for more information on the 2019 Mazda CX-3.
