What's New for the 2019 Mazda CX-5?

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is a carryover model from 2018. This model features the same exterior and interior style that was found in the previous CX-5. The 2.5T SkyActiv Dynamic Pressure four-cylinder engine is a new feature for this year. Mazda is also adding another new trim to their line. The Signature trim option will add upgraded lighting and wood trim options for the interior cabin. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available for the higher end trim packages. The 2019 Mazda CX-5 will also feature a revised gauge cluster, cooled front seats, and power folding mirrors.

Great Trims to Choose From

The 2019 CX-5 is a carryover from last year. This model includes all the features that you come to expect from Mazda. Soul Red Crystal is a new paint option ready for 2019 model year. Mazda is adding another trim option to the CX-5 line. The Signature, Grand Touring, and Sport trims all be available on the CX-5. The Sport trim option features an all cloth upholstery and leather trim for the interior. Leather seats are an option for the Grand Touring trim. Heated seats and 19-inch alloy wheels are available for an upgrade from the Sport package. Mazda is offering a Preferred Equipment Package. This special package features the Mazda Navigation System and a power liftgate. Silk Beige, Parchment, and Black are the interior options for 2019. All CX-5 models are equipped with USB ports for charging your mobile devices.

What's Under the Hood?

2019 Mazda CX-5The 2019 CX-5 will be the first model to feature the SkyActiv 2.5T turbo four-cylinder engine. It was previously only available on the CX-9. This engine produces 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The non-turbo version of the 2.5L can still produce enough power. It can crank out 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The 2.5T engine can reach 60 MPH in 7 seconds. Every CX-5 model comes in various combinations of all-wheel and four-wheel drive. All three trim options have a six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle's stopping distance is measured at 180 feet. The CX-5 can reach 30 MPG on the highway and 23 MPH in the city.

2019 Mazda CX-5Safety is the number one priority for Mazda. The 2019 CX-5 has many safety features for this model year. The Sport trim has Smart City Brake Support, Hill Launch Assist, and Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. All trim models also feature the Mazda Connect safety and infotainment system. The 7-inch touchscreen display is also standard in all trim options. Apple CarPlay, Sirius XM, and Android Auto are available for the higher trim packages.
