The Mazda2, originally released in 1996, has sold over 2.4 million units across the globe since its arrival in the industry. A stranger to the U.S. market for almost 15 years, the third-generation model was the first to land in America in 2011, expanding Mazda's North American lineup. Since its debut in the States, the compact car has not received a next-generation model revitalizing its image, but as of today, that's no longer the case, because Mazda has just unveiled the all-new fourth-generation 2016 Mazda2 and it's a beauty.

Designed to be in sync with the rest of Mazda's lineup, the incoming 2016 Mazda2 is based off of the HAZUMI Concept, which premiered at the Geneva Auto Show this year, and features the company's signature "KODO: Soul of Motion" design language. The model also comes with a host of SKYACTIV technologies along with a collection of safety features, including MAZDA CONNECT and i-ACTIVESENSE. While the Japanese variant will be powered by either a SKYACTIV-G 1.3L gasoline engine or a SKYACTIV-D 1.5L clean diesel engine, there is no official word as to what the U.S. model will offer, but we should be receiving information within the next coming months.

You can purchase the all-new 2016 Mazda2 at Reliable Mazda when it's officially released to the public. However, if you're looking to buy a car now, you can check out our 2014 Mazda2 models, which are on sale now.
