As a part of this year's Milan Design Week, Mazda opened an exclusive exhibit "Mazda Design: The Car as Art," where they unveiled their newest creations, "Sofa by KODO concept" and "Bike by KODO concept." Based off of Mazda's signature KODO design language, the artworks are a different representation of the brand's fluid motion styling and sheds new light on Mazda's capabilities.

With their recent concept projects, Mazda tried to express the Japanese aesthetics RIN and EN. RIN means a sense of self-restrained dignity, while EN represents an alluring sensuality that speaks to the senses. To communicate both aesthetics through the creation of the bike, very few components were used to develop the track racer: a single sheet of steel was hammered to form the frame and a hand-stitched black leather saddle was applied. Overall, the bike is styled similarly to the Mazda MX-5 and is visually attractive.

The "Sofa by KODO concept" was a joint effort between Mazda engineers and Italian makers. The sofa's form is based off the Mazda CX-3 and displays a strong stance, while also showcasing some Italian elements. Check out photos of both the sofa and bike above and see which one you like better. Also, take a look at Mazda's previously revealed KODO Chair design here.
