Mazda Navigation

It’s essential that you keep the maps in your Mazda navigation system up-to-date. Regardless of what model you have, you’ll want to ensure that you’re headed in the right direction the next time you’re going out on an adventure. You’d be surprised how differently a map can look from year to year as an area develops and goes through construction. If you’ve never been to that area before, then you might not know that you’re navigating improperly.

Here’s how you can update your Mazda’s navigation system. You’ll need your computer and your Mazda’s SD card. Where your SD card is located may vary from model to model. You can check your owner’s manual for more information.

Steps for Updating Your Navigation System

The first thing that you want to do is install the Mazda Toolbox that is located on the main Mazda website. Once you successfully open up the Toolbox program, you’ll need to insert your SD card into your computer. Make sure that it registers on your computer.

Log into the program, or create a new account so you can have access. Your Toolbox program should prompt you to back up the information you currently have on your SD card. Accept this prompt and back everything up.

A button should appear on your main screen, which is titled “Updates.” Click on “Updates” to see what new updates are available for your specific vehicle. Installation should begin at this point. Make sure that you create a new backup of your files once the update has been completed.

Eject your SD card, and place your SD card back into its original location in your vehicle. You can repeat this process every six months to one year to ensure that you have the most updated information available to you.

If you have any issues during the process of updating your Mazda’s navigation system, you can contact Reliable Mazda for more information. We’d be happy to walk you through the process or address any concerns that you’re having.
