Most newer Mazda vehicles come with a remote start feature. This feature allows you to precondition your vehicle's cabin from up to 300 feet away, which is handy when you need to start your car on a cold morning.

To use the remote start function on your Mazda vehicle, first press the "Function" switch on your Mazda remote. This should get the "Engine Start" display to appear on the remote's LCD screen. Once the display is on, press the "Start" switch until the remote beeps. The "Engine Start Standby" display should appear on the LCD screen if you did this correctly. This means that your remote is waiting for feedback from your vehicle. After about 8 to 10 seconds, the display should change to "Engine Start Initiated," and your engine should start. Your remote should also tell you how much warm-up time is remaining if you're waiting for your cabin to warm up, and it will tell you if your rear defroster is running. Your defroster will automatically turn on in temperatures under 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mazda Remote Start

Keep in mind that your vehicle will not remote start if your keys are in the ignition, the hood is unlatched, or if any of your warning lights are on. The remote start feature also won't work twice in rapid succession, so you will have to wait a few minutes to remote start your vehicle if you've already attempted to do so.
