Specs at a Glance
When you are looking at the options Mazda has for 2019 SUVs, you can't go wrong with any of them. But two of the top SUVs the company offers this year are the 2019 CX-5 and the 2019 CX-9. Both are stylish, athletic, and luxurious vehicles. Packed with amenities like more luxury amenities than ever before and a turbo-charged engine, the latest CX-5 is designed to impress from the inside out. Redesigned with a more muscular appearance than ever before, the latest CX-9 is another fine option. This year, the SUV gets a design change to refresh its exterior. It also has a more luxurious cabin with features like touchscreen technology and high-quality entertainment systems that extend to the back row. With options in trim level and drivetrain, the CX-9 is ready for a custom finish.
Performance
With an updated engine, the CX-5 is ready for you to get in and go, no matter where your adventures lead. On the higher-level trims, you can look forward to the SkyActive engine, which is Mazda's innovative 2.5L engine that produces up to 250 HP and 310 LB-FT of torque at just 2,000 RPM. This engine is impressive enough, but the fact that it is turbocharged makes it even better. The base engine is a four-cylinder that produces a maximum of 187 HP at 6,000 RPM. You'll get an automatic transmission with either engine, but you have a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. If you opt for the CX-9, you'll also be able to enjoy the same SkyActive engine that drives the higher trim levels of the CX-5. This 16-valve engine has a maximum power output of 250 HP. It has the same torque capabilities as the engine in the CX-5. Like the CX-5, you have the option of getting either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. In either case, however, you will still get an automatic transmission.
Appearance
If you're after a car for its good looks, either one of these stylish Mazda SUVs will be a good choice. The CX-5 comes standard with metallic-gray 17-inch wheels. It also has power side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. On the roof, you'll find a sleek antenna shaped like a shark fin, which adds subtle but distinct style to the car's appearance. A roof-mounted spoiler is another signature addition to the car's appearance. LED headlights, which are daytime running and automatic, complete the CX-5's delightful appearance. A design change this year gives the CX-9 a simultaneously more muscular and modern image. Rounded edges, a bold front grille, and innovative features like a body-colored spoiler on the back roof make it stand out from the crowd. Black molding gives it a contemporary look, while rear privacy glass makes any ride feel like a mobile sanctuary. The CX-9 comes standard with 18-inch wheels. A dual exhaust system adds to its appearance from the rear, while LED lights in front make it more safe and visible.
Features
Both cabins of the CX-5 and the CX-9 are spacious and luxurious. The CX-5 comes with a number of desirable standard amenities, including a push-button start and rearview mirror with separate settings for driving during the day and night. A timer-operated rear window defogger is a nice convenience in cold weather. A seven-inch touchscreen with wireless technology is another highlight. With the CX-9, you'll get a three-zone climate control system, a push-button start, and two 12V power outlets. The same infotainment system is in this model, and it gets a luxurious finish with a leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob.
You can't go wrong with either stylish, luxurious Mazda SUV. And in fact, you might have trouble narrowing down your choice. Whether you have questions about these models or want to try them out for yourself, we encourage you to contact us today.
