Mazda recommends that CX-9 drivers follow a maintenance schedule to ensure their vehicle's longevity. The table below outlines the recommended service intervals and what should be inspected or replaced.

15,000-Mile Service

At 15,000 miles, you should perform an oil change and check the brakes and tires. You should also inspect safety features like the windshield wipers and headlights. You should not avoid this inspection because it is one of the first services performed on the CX-9.

30,000-Mile Service

At 30,000 miles, a more detailed inspection of the tires, brakes, and oil should take place. In addition, the fuel filter and air filter may need to be replaced.

Delaying this inspection could cause problems down the road.

60,000-Mile Service

Along with changing your oil and oil filter and inspecting your tires, this service includes checking your battery. Brakes and brake fluid are replaced again, and the coolant and transmission fluid are as well. This inspection is necessary because it catches many of the common problems with the CX-9.

90,000-Mile Service

This service is more comprehensive. The items checked at 60,000 miles are looked at again. Hoses, spark plugs, power steering fluid levels, and the timing belt may also need to be replaced. Otherwise, some of the same items replaced at 60,000 miles may need to be done again.
